This private house from  António Costa Lima Architects is located in the Belém district in Lisbon and is integrated with the waist of manufacturing and logistic structures that spreads along the riverbanks. Once a warehouse, it has a privileged view of the Tagus river and direct access to the former Power Station, now Museum for Art, Architecture and Technology.

The new house maintains the original perimeter walls of the old warehouse, introducing an archetypically-shaped-volume in its interior, which is interspersed with patio and terrace voids. This new pitched structure is composed of metallic profiles cladded with expressive brickwork that plays with different rhythms and textures.

Taking advantage of the view and introducing unexpected interior visual permeabilities, the transversal walls are fully glazed and are assembled as a tangram of panoramah! solutions, all with brown powder coated profiles – tilt and turn, pivot, fixed, vertical and horizontal sliding – demonstrating that all systems can seamlessly butt against each other in the same glass façade.
