Context(s) in Contemporary Architecture: 5 Continents
panoramah! supported the international cycle of lectures named “Context(s) in Contemporary Architecture: 5 Continents”.
The cycle will take place in the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto, from February 28th until April 18th. This cycle started with Issa Diabaté lecture, followed by Paul Owen, Rick Joy, Li Xiadong and Tham & Videgard.
“The careful attention to the particular circumstances of the context, the concern about cultural rooted features and life itself, as well as the ambition of being universalistic on the approach to disciplinary core themes may be fundamental features within the Portuguese architectural thinking. Drawing on such possible identity characteristics, this international cycle of lectures is devoted to take the debate on the contemporary international architecture themes further. Aiming at a worldwide perspective on the possible debate between Portuguese thinking and different international views of Architecture, it also proposes a broad approach by gathering together the five continents.”
